Joy in learning, is it possible?

Dr. W. Edwards Deming died in 1993; his teaching and impact in education has been vibrant ever since.  Dr. Deming asked three things from our learning environments: to learn, have fun and make a difference.  It turns out that these three basic concepts produce a brain-based learning environment that enables student engagement and academic performance at levels not normally achieved through traditional methods.

Is it possible to create learning and work environments that are joyful?

Is it possible to create learning experiences so vibrant that student engagement goes beyond 100%?

Is it possible to create classrooms where behavior problems are virtually nonexistent?

The typical education system leaves the system alone and tries to manage the behavior the system produces by creating increasing levels of remediation programs.  Dr. Deming taught that it takes a modification of the system to create a change in the people within the system.

Using Dr. Deming’s work, David Langford developed methods to improve learning processes.  He then concentrated on applying those methods to help educators create stable learning systems which result in a reduced need for learning remediation and creates joy in learning, teaching and leading.

November 6-8, 2015 in Seattle, WA educators will be gathering to share how they are successfully applying these methods and joyfully achieving improved learning, teaching and leading at all levels within their organizations.
